Kia’s Courage is dedicated to empowering women through breast health education, early detection awareness, compassionate support, and community resources. Inspired by the strength and journey of Kia Pope, our mission is to ensure women feel informed, supported, and empowered before, during, and beyond a breast cancer diagnosis.

The Woman Behind Kia’s Courage
Since April 24, 2026, I have quietly been battling stage 2 breast cancer. It was found by my OBGYN during my annual visit in February and confirmed in April. I have had surgery and they successfully removed the tumor and any trace of the cancer. I have complete radiation but will continue with other treatment over the next 5 years; the hardest part is complete.
Why am I sharing this? I am sharing this to tell each of you to go to your regular check up and get your mammograms because it could save your life. Had I decided to skip my annual or not get a mammogram, I could have a very different story right now. God has put it on my heart to share my story in hopes that I will save someone else’s life that may be feeling something and is too afraid to get it checked out.
